Managing ICS Security — article 1/3

In this series of articles, I address the issue of managing cybersecurity and building a thorough program for Industrial Control Systems (ICS). The convergence between Information and Operational Technology brings a new set of challenges for security professionals and new security controls need to be implemented. I discuss this topic over three articles.

The Advent of Smart Plants

Industrial control systems (ICS) today are used across many industries, typically for manufacturing or distribution. While a manufacturing plant is mostly centralized in a single location, ICS for distribution (e.g. gas, water and electricity) are geographically distributed across multiple locations.
